MHS3 / MHS4 Series Concentric Pneumatic Gripper

SOLH MHS3 3-jaw and MHS4 4-jaw wedge-cam self-centering hollow pneumatic grippers are fully interchangeable with equivalent SMC models. Wedge cam transmission drives synchronous jaw centering, achieving repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.01 mm. Bore sizes range from 16 to 125 mm. Standard double acting (D) design, with optional single acting normally closed (C) / normally open (E) spring return versions. The central hollow through hole allows routing of air tubes, ejector pins and optical fibers, supporting both external clamping and internal expanding gripping. Evenly spaced three jaws of MHS3 provide superior coaxiality, ideal for shafts, discs and ring-shaped workpieces. Orthogonally arranged four jaws of MHS4 deliver stable constraint for square, rectangular and irregular flat parts to avoid tilting. Built-in permanent magnets are compatible with M9BW series magnetic switches. The low-profile compact body fits robot end effectors perfectly. Derivative variants include dust-protected MHSJ3 and extended hollow MHSH3. Widely applied to machine tool loading/unloading, bearing press-fitting, handling of 3C circular & square components and concentric assembly of tubular workpieces.
