RB RBQ Series Non-Adjustable Hydraulic Shock Absorber
SOLH RB series are fixed orifice hydraulic shock absorbers following SMC standard, drop-in replacements for imported dampers. Built-in multi-stage throttling converts impact energy into heat with no field adjustment, supporting 0.05–5m/s impact speed. Four sub-series cover general (RB), coolant-resistant (RBL), short-body (RBQ) and dust-capped (RBC) applications across 0.5–147J energy and M6–M27 threads. Screw-mounted with ±5° misalignment tolerance, ideal for end-of-stroke buffering of cylinders, linear slides and rotary actuators in automation equipment.
SOLH RB series are non-adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers following SMC standard. It converts impact kinetic energy into heat energy via internal porous throttling structure. No adjustment required, ready for direct installation. Widely used for end-of-stroke buffering, noise reduction and anti-collision of air cylinders, linear slides and rotary mechanisms.
2. Core Features
•No adjustment needed: Built-in multi-stage throttling, stable performance from low-speed light load to high-speed heavy load after one-time installation.
•Compact design: Short body with threaded mounting. Allow mounting misalignment up to ±5°, capable of absorbing swing energy from rotary actuators.
•Rigid housing: Can serve as mechanical stop without extra hard limit. Built-in return spring.
•Long service life: Fully enclosed construction with oil seal for dust protection. Impact speed range: 0.05 ~ 5 m/s.
With protective / dust cap to safeguard piston rod
Same footprint as RB standard series

5. Model Coding Rule
Example: RB1412 • RB = Standard series hydraulic shock absorber • 14 = Thread size M14×1.5 •12 = Buffer stroke 12 mm
6. Selection Guidelines
•Calculate absorption energy: E = ½mv² + thrust × stroke. Select a model whose rated energy ≥ calculated value.
•Match stroke properly: Buffer stroke must be shorter than the total travel of the moving mechanism to avoid bottoming impact.
•Impact speed: Standard working range 0.05~5 m/s. Contact us for reinforced version for ultra-high speed applications.
• Environment selection: Choose RBL for cutting fluid / wet environment; choose RBC with cap for heavy dust conditions.
• Misalignment limit: Max allowable eccentric angle ≤5°. Install floating joint if misalignment exceeds this value.
7. Installation & Precautions
•Apply small amount of anaerobic thread locker on threads. Do NOT use PTFE tape, which may block the throttling orifice.
• Supplied with two hex lock nuts plus one stop nut for anti-loosening.
•Mountable horizontally, vertically or at any angle; piston rod must face the impact direction.
•Operating temperature: −10℃ ~ +80℃. Avoid icing under low temperature.
8. SOLH Replacement Advantage
SOLH RB series fully copies SMC model code, dimension and performance parameters, direct drop-in replacement for imported dampers, with competitive price and shorter lead time, ideal for mass equipment cost reduction. • RB0805 → Replace AC0805 • RB1412 → Replace AC1412
