Indoor Withdrawable Vacuum Circuit Breaker

  VSG-12 Indoor High Voltage Vacuum Circuit Breaker(abbr.: circuit breaker) is three-phrase A.C. 50Hz indoor of power supply distribution equipped with the rated voltage 12 KV. This product is in accordance with GB1984-2003( high voltage A.C. circuit breaker),JB3855-1996 (3.6-4.5KV indoor A.C. high voltage circuit breaker), DL403-2000(technical conditions for ordering of 12-40.5KV high voltage vacuum circuit breaker) and IEC standard 62271-100:2001( high volage A.C. Circuit breaker). It can be used for protecting and controlling equipment in the grid equipment and the dynamic design of industrial and mining enterprise .It is suitable for switching load and frequent operation with different property and with the capability of many times operations of breaking short-circuit current.

The indoor withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers are suitable for three-phase AC power systems with rated voltages up to 12~24kV and frequency 50/60Hz. They are widely used in power plants, substations, petrochemicals, metallurgy, manufacturing and other industries, airports, residential areas, etc. Control and protect electrical equipment, especially for occasions that need to be operated infrequently at rated current or multi-circuit short-circuit current. It can be installed in indoor air-insulated switchgear such as KYN28 or AMS type.

  The circuit breaker is made of mature APG technology. The application of VD4 terminal buffer ensures that the indoor terminal is more reliable in any operating environment. VD4 can fully meet the requirements of GB, DL, IEC, DIN, VDE and the standards of other advanced industrial countries.

The vacuum circuit breaker mainly consists of three parts: vacuum arc extinguishing chamber, operating mechanism, bracket, and other components.

1. Vacuum arc extinguishing chamber

According to the different types of switches, there are ceramic vacuum arc extinguishing chambers with external screens, small vacuum arc extinguishing chambers with intermediate sealed cup shaped longitudinal magnetic fields, and inner sealed glass bubble arc extinguishing chambers. The basic structure is as follows:

•  Airtight insulation shell：The airtight insulation system composed of a ceramic, glass or microcrystalline glass airtight insulation cylinder, a movable end cover, a fixed end cover, and a stainless steel corrugated pipe is a vacuum sealed container. To ensure airtightness, in addition to the strict operating procedures in the sealing type, the material itself is also required to have small breathability and internal gas release.

• Conductive system：It is composed of a fixed conductive rod, a fixed running arc surface, a fixed contact, a moving contact, a moving arc surface, and a moving conductive rod. The contact structure can be roughly divided into three types: cylindrical contact, transverse magnetic field contact groove curved surface with spiral shape, and longitudinal magnetic field contact. At present, this type of arc extinguishing chamber adopts longitudinal magnetic field technology, which has strong and stable arc extinguishing ability.

• Shielding system：Shielding cover is an indispensable component in the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber, and there are various types of shielding cover, such as the main shielding cover surrounding the contact point, corrugated pipe shielding cover, and voltage equalizing shielding cover. The function of the main shielding cover is as follows: ① To prevent products from splashing onto the inner wall of the insulation shell during the arc process, thereby reducing the insulation strength of the shell. ② Improving the uniformity of electric field distribution in the arc extinguishing chamber is beneficial for reducing local field strength and promoting the miniaturization of the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber Condensing arc products and absorbing some arc energy is beneficial for the recovery of the dielectric strength of the arc gap.

2. Operating mechanism

According to the different types of circuit breakers, different operating mechanisms are used. Common operating mechanisms include spring operating mechanism (VS1), permanent magnet operating mechanism, and combination operating mechanism (VBD).

What are the characteristics of vacuum circuit breakers

• Strong breaking capacity, up to 50kA; After fracture, the medium between the cracks recovers quickly and there is no need to replace the medium.
• The contact opening distance is small. The contact breaking distance of the 10kV vacuum circuit breaker is only about 10mm. The required operating power is small, the action is fast, the operating mechanism can be simplified, and the service life can be extended. Generally, maintenance is not required for around 20 years.
• Short arc extinguishing time, low arc voltage, low arc energy, low contact loss, and multiple interruptions.
• The mobile guide rod has small inertia and is suitable for frequent operation.
•  When operating the switch, the action noise is low, making it suitable for urban use.
• Arc extinguishing or insulation media do not use oil, and there is no fire or explosion hazard.
• The contact head is a fully sealed structure, which will not reduce its performance due to the influence of moisture, dust, and harmful gases. Reliable operation and stable on-off performance. As an independent component, the arc extinguishing chamber is easy to install and debug.
• During the service life of the vacuum circuit breaker, the contact part does not require maintenance and inspection. Even if maintenance and inspection are carried out, the time required is very short.
• The arc is extinguished in a closed container, and the arc and hot gas are not exposed.
