Sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker is a new type of high voltage circuit breaker using SF6 gas as insulation medium and arc extinguishing medium. The pure SF6 gas is colorless, non-olfactory, non-flammable and non-toxic inert gas. It has good insulation and arc extinguishing performance. Sulphur hexafluoride circuit breakers use high pressure SF6 gases, forming high pressure airflow between the vents and contacts in the arc extinguishing chamber to blow out the arc, the pressure of SF6 gases blowing arc up to 1-1.5 MPa.
